Planning: Preliminary task

This long shot shows Benjimina walking up to me to say hello. It helps the audience have a better understanding of the surrounding/environment the characters are located in.
The over the shoulder shot has been used to show Benjiminas reaction to the conversation which is happening between us.It helps capture emotion in more detail.

The medium shot shows the conversation taking place between both of us. This shot captures emotion and the surrounding of the characters in more detail.

For our task we had to create a short 30 second clip including the different camera shots, angles and lighting. We used the long shot at the start to show the characters meeting. The long shot allows the audience members to have a better understanding of the surrounding that the characters are based in. Moreover the over the shoulder shot is used to highlight the other characters reaction to the conversation that is taking place between the two. In addition the medium shot was used to show the characters in more detail so the audience has a better understanding of them.  Furthermore, I believe it will be useful to use these in my thriller as it gives the audience a better understanding of what is taking place and captures the action.

  1. The preliminary task has clearly helped you operate a camera and identify the basic skills of filming and editing. Clear to see that you have worked well within your group in your first attempt and have shared tasks and responsibilities.

    To improve;
    -start the post with some discussion of what the preliminary task was and what was it aimed to do for you as a group (handling camera, identify roles etc)
    -can you discuss what scenario you picked to do and why
    -what difficulties did you have whilst filming and how did you overcome them?
